About Us
Karen Cox,
VP of Internal Development & Education
Mortgage Loan Originator NMLS #117349
Helping one family at a time since 1997!
I enjoy helping first-time home buyers realize their dream of home ownership. Contrary to the negative media, this can still be done. There are several first-time home buyer programs still available. Government lending, FHA, VA, USDA, and Oregon VA are my specialties. I also enjoy helping my fellow loan officers structure files to benefit their clients in the best possible way. The lending world has changed today as a result of the more relaxed lending standards of the past. We have returned to the more conservative approach so for me it’s just like returning to the early ’90′s and what I “grew up” on. It’s not a bad thing because I now have more opportunity to be an educator and not just an order taker.
It is now, more important than ever, to have a mortgage professional that understands and follows all the new guidelines for appraisals and new timelines and regulations involved in the home loan process. A knowledgeable loan officer will help make sure that your closing goes smoothly.
My highest priority is providing you the best experience when financing your home. This is an important consideration when selecting your Loan Officer. I carefully monitor the number of clients I represent in order to provide them with the highest level of service and attention before, during and after the loan process. This level of service is important in the home loan experience. I am dedicated to providing superior service; I am warm, enthusiastic and take pride in my work, which has resulted in lasting friendships, repeat clients and personal referrals. I have a long list of satisfied clients available for referrals. Taking the time to understand my individual client’s needs, financial goals and communication styles make for a smooth and successful transaction. I believe that the best relationships are built on trust and mutual respect.

I have been serving the residential lending needs of our community for over 29 years. I have been at Landmark Professional Mortgage since 1997. I have been a consistently top producing loan officer while at Landmark. Landmark Professional is a wonderful place to work and is more like a family than a job. My family and I live in South Salem where I am an active member of the community. I have 4 children and an amazing granddaughter, Emmalee, who is 6. My oldest son, Zac, works for A-dec in Newberg. Next is A.J. who is a member of the Oregon National Guard MP Unit. My only daughter Carlee, was recently married, and works at an attorney’s office. My youngest, Garrett, just turned 20 and is working in the construction industry. When I am not working, I attend sporting events, travel, read or spend time with Emmalee.
